Happy New Year!

What would you like to create in 2026?

I love the milestone of the passing from one year to the next.

It’s a perfect time to reflect back on the past year and the strides we've made, the lives we've touched, and the ripples of positive change we've set in motion. And then look forward to how we want to consciously create our year ahead.

There’s no question that 2025 was a tough year, in so many ways. It also was a year filled with awakening, people coming together, and resilience. To create the type of world we want we all need to step into our power and play the role that is uniquely ours to play.  It is so important to share your talents, skills and gifts with a world that desperately needs them.

Future-oriented, solution-focused questions can generate powerful energy to create what you want in your life.

My holiday gift to you is my favorite questions for transitioning from one year to the next. You can edit them or add your own to make this activity meaningful for you, your family, and your teams.

Some people tell me they love to have some quiet reflection time alone with the questions, cozy under a blanket with a warm drink.  Some tell me they have created an annual tradition of answering the questions together with family or friends. They love the conversations these questions inspire. Sometimes people bring them to holiday gatherings (particularly New Year's Eve!) or send them as a digital gift.

I encourage you to keep the questions handy and re-visit them all year long!

Please share the questions with whomever you like.  I love hearing about how these questions are used and what opens up for you, so please send me a message and let me know!

There is more information in the article below.  I hope you embrace this activity and enjoy it!

Here's to a new year full of opportunities to inspire ourselves and others.

Thank you for all the ways you are making a difference.

With profound gratitude and appreciation,

2026 New Year Reflection

December 29, 2025

For many years it’s been my annual tradition to write this letter near the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere of planet Earth. The longest night of the year seems like a perfect transition time to reflect on what we want to let go of in our life, and with ‘the return of the light’ be intentional about what we want to create in the year ahead.

Our world is in desperate need of people who show up as their best self, make a positive difference, and play a leadership role regardless of their title or position. How have you been doing with that?

Some days it’s hard to be more effective, have more impact, and inspire others in challenging times. Some days it can be hard to shift our focus from what’s wrong and what we don’t want, to what we do want and how to create that.

I continuously use the tools I’ve learned to catch myself, release thoughts and emotions that are not serving me well, re-center, and shift my focus to one that navigates life with more ease and flow. This way of being is something I pay attention to every single day, and some days I do better than others. My goal is to be adaptively resilient and to be calm and effective under pressure regardless of what is going on around me.

I know without a doubt that when we make an internal change and live with a forward-focus approach, we can accomplish goals faster and easier with much less stress and more enjoyment! And when we use this forward-focus approach with others we can turn conflict into collaboration and create innovative solutions that are sustainable.

**  Please do not underestimate the power you have to make a positive difference.  **
You can play a leadership role in every conversation you have.  A powerful way to do this is to ask appreciative and future-oriented questions.

This approach is the foundation of my New Year Reflection questions. I encourage you to spend some quiet time reflecting on these questions for yourself and to use them to engage in some juicy conversations with others.

For many years I have shared these questions with family, friends and colleagues.  Many people have told me they love these questions and I am delighted to offer them so you can share them with the people in your life. It’s particularly fun for me to hear the various ways people use them with their loved ones.

Remember that when we each show up as our best self and do something positive every day, collectively we will change the world ~ one thought, one word, one action at a time ~ as long as we stay focused on what we want to create.

I am wishing you a year of satisfaction,
collaboration, celebration and joy in your work and in your life!

THANK YOU for all the ways you are making a difference.
